Transcenders Media
Transcenders shows that there’s strength in darkness, something to learn from every obstacle, and that we as humans can help and mirror each other. We strive for people being accepted as who they are, regardless of background, identity, expression and sexuality.
The team currently consists of Bobbi A Sand (game design, story and art), Pixie Johan Anderson (programming), Niklas Ström (sound design) and Douglas Holmquist (music). In 2019 we released Knife Sisters, a visual novel about emotions, power and dependence. Knife Sisters was part of IndieCade Showcase at E3 in 2019, and went on to win the Longest Feature Award at A Maze Festival in 2020.
Transcenders Media delivers experiences for PC, console and mobile platforms. The games we create are stories about our world and what it means to be human.
BIO
Bobbi started working in games in 2006, with their previous company Ozma Games, in which they explored games, play and gamification in several projects, for example the social poetry game Words of Oz. Pixie has been working as a game programmer since 2006, mainly in the company Tarsier Studios that they co-founded, on titles such as Rag Doll Kung Fu and Little Big Planet PS Vita.
In 2015 Bobbi and Pixie worked together in an Ozma project called Patchwork of Oz, and found they really liked cooperating. When Bobbi got funding for Knife Sisters in 2017, they joined forces for this project, teaming up with Niklas Ström and Douglas Holmquist.
Niklas has done sound design and music for several indie titles, such as Rymdkapsel and The Swords of Ditto. He enjoys recording his own sounds from many different and unexpected sources.
Douglas has made music for a large number of games, examples are Tuxedo Labs’ Teardown and Mediocre’s Smash Hit. His range in genres and styles is wide and encompasses everything from jazz to electronica and noise.
